Thousands of people received evacuation orders in Northern California due to a raging wildfire that is out-of-control, in the midst of a dangerous heat wave in the western United States.
The Thompson fire has consumed more than 1,400 hectares since it began on Tuesday, according to US official data. The flames are spreading mainly north of the community of Oroville, in Butte County.
